2 Connecting the FRITZ!WLAN Stick without a USB hub
The following step is only necessary if you connected the FRITZ!WLAN Stick to a USB hub (USB distributor) instead of directly to the USB port on your computer:
Note:The FRITZ!WLAN Stick can be used with many USB hubs that support at least USB 2.0. However, we cannot guarantee that USB hubs will work properly.
- Remove the USB hub from the computer for testing purposes.
- Connect the FRITZ!WLAN Stick directly to the USB port on the computer.
3 Checking the USB port
Installing the latest driver
- Install the latest drivers for the USB 3.0 port and the mainboard chipset on the computer (the chipset is a part of the mainboard that computer components are attached or connected to.
Note:You can find the latest USB or chipset drivers in the download area of the manufacturer's website.
Using the USB stand
- Use the USB stand included with delivery to connect the FRITZ!WLAN Stick to the computer's USB 3.0 port.
Testing a different USB device
- If the FRITZ!WLAN Stick is still not detected, check whether other USB devices (for example a USB printer) are detected when you connect them to the same USB port on the computer:
- If other USB devices are also not detected, the computer's USB port may be defective.
4 Testing on a different computer
- Install the FRITZ!WLAN Stick on a different computer and check whether the same error also occurs with that computer.
- If the error does not occur with the other computer, consult the manufacturer of the first computer. There is no error on the part of the FRITZ!WLAN Stick.
