Behaviour of FRITZ!DECT 500 in case of power or internet outage

If you are using smart home devices, for example FRITZ!Smart Energy 200, FRITZ!Smart Thermo 302, or the LED light FRITZ!DECT 500, you can specify how the smart home device is switched after a restart, for example after an update or a power outage.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Behaviour of the smart home device during an interruption

If the FRITZ!Box loses power, all of the settings of the LED light FRITZ!DECT 500 for brightness and colour are retained. The LED light remains on or off, depending on its state at the time when the FRITZ!Box lost power. Automatic switching of the LED light, for example switching schedules, will stop working and routines also cannot be switched. If there is no internet connection, the LED light can still be switched within the home network.

A properly functioning FRITZ!Box with an internet connection and an existing connection to the LED light are required for smooth and correct operation.

You can specify the switching state for smart home devices after a FRITZ!Box restart, for example after a power outage or installing an update:

  2. Click on 'Devices and Groups' in the 'Smart Home' menu.
  3. Click on the (Edit) button for the respective smart home device.
  4. If you selected an LED light, click on the 'Light Setting' tab.
  5. Enable the desired option under 'Switching state'.
  6. Click on 'Apply' to save the settings.
