Determining the FRITZ!Box's BSSID
A BSSID (Basic Service Set Identifier) serves as a unique identifier of a wireless access point, for example a router or a repeater, in a Wi-Fi network. Some applications for setting up Wi-Fi connections require you to enter a BSSID when you want to set up a Wi-Fi connection to your FRITZ!Box.
The FRITZ!Box's BSSID is the MAC address at which the FRITZ!Box can be accessed by wireless devices. Which MAC address is relevant depends on whether the Wi-Fi connection is established using the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Determining the Wi-Fi MAC address
- Click "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Wi-Fi Network" ("Radio Network") in the "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") menu.
- Click "More Information on the Wi-Fi Network" and take note of the respective MAC address.
