Setting up the FRITZ!Box for use with a fiber optic connection from Deutsche Telekom

The FRITZ!Box is optimally prepared for use with a fiber optic connection from Telekom (for example 'MagentaZuhause Giga'). Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the fiber optic connection and enter your personal account information in the FRITZ!Box user interface.

The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and smart home is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Unlocking your FRITZ!Box

Wait to unlock the FRITZ!Box until you receive an email or SMS message with the reference 'Glasfaser-Anschluss einrichten' from Deutsche Telekom:

Note: If you did not receive an email or SMS with the subject line 'Glasfaser-Anschluss einrichten', contact Telekom.

  1. In the email or SMS with the reference 'Glasfaser-Anschluss einrichten', click or tap on the link or button 'Jetzt einrichten'. You will be redirected to the Deutsche Telekom website.
