Changing the name of the FRITZ!Box's workgroup

The FRITZ!Box makes connected USB storage devices available for sharing in the home network under the workgroup name "Workgroup". If you use a different name for the workgroup in your home network, you can change the name of the FRITZ!Box workgroup.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Configuring the FRITZ!Box

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "USB / Storage" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click on the "Home Network Sharing" tab.
  4. Enable the option "Access via network drive (SMB)".
  5. Enter the name of the workgroup in the "Workgroup" field.
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
